LETTER BOX
We start our very first lesson by “Exploring” the letter box. Baby Debo was so excited seeing the box and started to “explore” right away (pulling everything out and lastly up side down the box.. @_@)
I put the sandpaper letter on the mat and ask Baby Debo to use her fingers to feel and touch on the sandpaper.. she like it !! ~~Later on, I had ask Baby Debo to pick out some letter A and put on the mat with some laminated clipart which related to letter A. I name out these clipart and put on the mat one by one.. Baby Debo able to recognise and speak word of ANT and APPLE.. plus letter A.
MOVEABLE ALPHABETS
Resource: Moving Alphabet from Montessori Materials; Clipart from Homeschool Creation
The moving alphabets was used to spell out the words for each laminated clipart in the letter box. Baby Debo seems quite interested on these and she really keep her concentration in looking Mama to spell the words out.. Good girl ^_^
FLASH CARDS
I flash fruits cards both in English and Chinese in two different days to avoid confusing her. The next days I stick the cards on the wall, for Baby Debo to do some revision “by herself” ..haha
MATCHING CARDS
I only choose those fruits cards out. Bought this matching cards from ELC for 50% discount… make it around RM20 .. I like this because the picture are all real objects instead of cartoons, and Baby Debo did learn and able to recognise many objects from playing this matching card set.
Matching small fake fruits in the sensory bin with flash cards – Words and Photo.
LETTERS MAZE
Letter Maze game from 1plus1plus1equals1 website. You can use magnet, pom poms, or dot paint in this game. Baby Debo
STICKERS
This nice worksheet was printed from 1plus1equalto1 website. Using apple stickers, thought teaching her numbering and stick the apple stickers according to the numbers… as the results, she able to “do” it until number 3, and finally she insist to stick it wherever she like…. OK, you WIN…
RIGHT BRAIN EXERCISE
Eye tracking exercise, use magnet to track accordingly. This is to do some eye exercise and practice hand movement in straight line. How was the result? Well, she still not quite know how to play with it, just touch on the every black dots on the worksheet… still need some times to practise.
Photographic Memory by using those clipart we used in the letter box. The colourful background was a hard cardboard I bought in a supermarket with a very low price …for less than RM3 per pc, I bought double in order to play with Baby Debo. Can she remember all the location of the clipart? Nop… all wrong… still need some times to let her understand the game.
PHYSICAL PRACTISE
PALMAR GRASP by transferring larger stuff from container to the black plastic box (which actually was from a snack). She like it very much and did it very well too. She able to recognise the colours of the pom poms, and most excited is she able to call out the word of “BLUE” ~~~
PINCER/ FINGER GRASP by scooping all those green beans that we used for sensory bin back into a round container. She did scooped well at the beginning but scooping it back into the big box after a while, then finally throwing all around (she like to throw little things around…=_=) …
BIBLE TEACHING
Words for this week: KEEP ME AS THE APPLE OF YOUR EYES (Psalm 17:8), idea from 1plus1equalto1 website. I wrote the phrase on the IKEA white board together with Chinese verse. We sang some songs before we started reading the verse, worships and prayed at last.
PLAY DOUGH
We used the worksheet that printed from 1plus1plus1equals1 website as the template for playing dough. Well, the worksheet, “unfortunately” being painted by Baby Debo before we play this game.. seems a bit of messy and difficult to see the Letter A on the worksheet but actually Baby Debo was trying to write letter a on it… keep saying “A….A….A” when “drawing”on the worksheet… not easy to read her words, right?
“Ta Da…. !!” .. Look nice, right.. hehe… Do not be shock, this definitely not the work of Baby Debo.. Is her mum, that is me who done this. Then what had she done? …Answer: those tiny little dough that scatter around were her works..
I like the Play-Doh , it smell nice, i mean not like other dough that has strong smell, indeed I think it has some smell of fruits… ha…
ART WORKS
Craft works ideas from Totally Tot website, a very creative website. Capital A for Alligator, and small letter a for apple. I was doing the cutting part and Baby Debo was helping Mama to glue. Much concentration needed for doing art works with Baby Debo as she may pull and stretch apart the foams, just as the Capital Letter A !!!!!! It took me a long time to glue the Letter A back … @_@
HANDCRAFT
This is a A to Z 3D Puzzle that I bought from a toy shop at a very low price RM 6.90 (BUY ONE FREE ONE !!!!). I bought one and got another for free, will give it to my cute niece.
Here is the final work …A for Ant with Chinese words at the other side, is cute, right? But sadly to say, Baby Debo seems don’t really like this ant, as she keep pulling out all the parts, finally tear off both ants’ head… >_< ll ……I had glued it back at the end. Well, good to say that Debo is really “GOOD” in pulling and tearing ~~
SCIENCE
We were doing life cycle of an apple in this week. I had prepare two real apple fruits, and had one cut into half. Firstly, I showed her the whole apple and then the half apple showing her the seeds inside, explaining to her how the apple come. I had use some of her baby languages in explaining the life cycle to her, example: apple seed is apple’s baby… easier for her to understand. Of course as a age of 2, kids surely wont able to understand the whole life cycle, just to give them some basic concepts. Baby Debo see how I plant vege and lotus flower, so she did have some ideas on how the seed become seedling.. Glad that I did show her the growth of the lotus flower ^_^
After showing the life cycle, we started to the apples and playing with the apple sequence card. Baby Debo just can't wait to eat it ~~

EXERCISE
To keep healthy, everyone should do more exercise (seems hard to me…>_<), especially children. I am not good in exercise, perhaps can say I rarely do exercise… So, how I teach my baby in exercise? Besides those daily light exercise, I had prepare exercise list that are according to Alphabets, resources from Homeschoolshare website. Since this week we were studying letter A, our first exercise was “Ankle --- Make circles with your Ankle”. How is Baby Debo doing it? She just able to move her feet up and down… More exercises are needed !!
FREE PLAY
I called it as “Masak Masak” (Cooking in Malay). This was what she keep asking for this whole week, she like it, so do I…^_^
